Randy Newman (The NaturalAvalonMarriage StoryPleasantville, James and the Giant Peach, Awakenings, The Princess and the Frog, Parenthood, Maverick) has recently been recording his score for Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming feature Toy Story 5. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, Wall-E), co-directed by Kenna Harris (Ciao Alberto) and features the voices of Tom Hanks who reprises his role of cowboy Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Tony Hale as Forky, as well as new cast additions Greta Lee, Conan O’Brien and Keanu Reeves. The movie follows Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang whose jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid. Lindsey Collins (Finding Dory, Turning Red) is producing the project. Newman has previously scored the first four installments and also composed the music for several other Pixar productions, including A Bug’s Life, Monsters, Inc. and Cars. Toy Story 5 will be released in theaters nationwide on June 19, 2026.
