Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the Japanese anime feature All You Need Is Kill. The album features the film’s original music composed by Yasuhiro Maeda (Fullmetal Alchemist: The Revenge of Scar & Final Transmutation). All You Need Is Kill directed by Kenichiro Akimoto is based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s novel of the same title, which also inspired Doug Liman’s Edge of Tomorrow. The Warner Bros. Japan & Studio 4°C production follows a resourceful, but isolated young woman volunteering to help rebuild Japan after the mysterious appearance of a massive alien flower when gets caught in an endless time loop after getting killed over and over again and must navigate the trauma and repetition of death, until she crosses paths with a shy young man trapped in the same cycle. The movie, which premiered at last year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival, opened in Japan last weekend and is being released in U.S. theaters this weekend by GKIDS.
