Dara Taylor (Ironheart, The Invitation, Strays, Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, The Tender Bar, Echo Boomers, The Noel Diary, Meet Me Next Christmas) has composed the original score for the upcoming Netflix original film Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip. The movie is written and directed by Perry (The Six Triple Eight, Diary of a Black Woman) and stars Perry himself, Jermaine Harris, Amber Reign Smith, Bethany Anne Lind, Millie Jackson, Jeremy Gimenez, Wil Deusner, DeEtta West, Ms. Pat and Ben Swilley. The comedy follows Madea’s foul-mouthed brother Joe as he takes his sheltered college-bound grandon on a raucous cross-country road trip to teach him about the real world. Perry is also producing the project with Yolanda T. Cochran (Animal Control, Gray Matter) and Angi Bones (Tyler Perry’s Duplicity, Madea’s Destination Wedding). Taylor has previously scored Perry’s Netflix thriller Straw and also provided additional music to several Perry-directed films scored by Christopher Lennertz & Philip White. Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip will premiere on February 13, 2026 exclusively on Netflix.
Taylor’s other upcoming feature projects include Josh Greenbaum’s The Dink and Linda Mendoza’s Relationship Goals.
