John Paesano (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Daredevil, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, The Maze Runner, Cheaper by the Dozen, Truth Be Told) & Adam Hochstatter have provided the original score for the upcoming Disney+ original animated movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw. The film is directed by Matt Danner and features the voices of Aaron D. Harris, Chris Diamantopoulos, Erica Cerra, Jude Zarzaur, Hunter Dillon, Gracen Newton, Bashir Salahuddin, Jill Basey and William Stanford Davis. The fourth animated feature adaptation of Jeff Kinney’s book series follows Greg Heffley as he finds himself at odds with the outsized expectations of his dad who presents him with an ultimatum that just might challenge his wimpy ways for good. Kinney also wrote the screenplay and is producing the 20th Century Animation production. Paesano has previously scored the first three animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies (and also composed the music for the Danner-directed 2022 Disney+ movie Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again), while Hochstatter has contributed additional music to all three installments and numerous other projects scored by Paesano over the last couple of years. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw will premiere on December 5, 2025 exclusively on Disney+.
