Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the biographical drama Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere written and directed by Scott Cooper and starring Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Stephen Graham, Gaby Hoffman, David Krumholtz and Marc Maron. The film’s original music is composed by The Lumineers’ Jeremiah Fraites (The Long Walk). Dave Cobb serves as the project’s executive music producer. Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie performed by Allen White on December (check out our previous article for the full album details and click here to listen to five first tracks). Also opening wide is the romantic drama Regretting You directed by Josh Boone and starring Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Scott Eastwood, Sam Morelos, Clancy Brown and Willa Fitzgerald. Nathaniel Walcott (The Fault in Our Stars, The Stand, Stuck in Love, Midnight Sun, Come and Find Me) has composed the film’s original music. Also opening wide is the horror feature Shelby Oaks written and directed by Chris Stuckmann and starring Camille Sullivan, Brendan Sexton III, Keith David, Robin Bartlett, Sarah Durn and Michael Beach. The film’s original music composed by James Burkholder and The Newton Brothers (Daredevil: Born Again, X-Men ’97, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Doctor Sleep, The Life of Chuck, The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, The Fall of the House of Usher). A soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score is expected to be released next week by Lakeshore Records. The movie, which follows a woman whose obsessive search for her missing sister leads her into a terrifying mystery, premiered at last year’s Fantastic Fest and is being released by Neon.
Also opening nationwide is the Japanese animated feature Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara. Kensuke Ushio (Chainsaw Man, The Colors Within, Japan Sinks: 2020, Make My Day, A Silent Voice, Devilman Crybaby, Liz and the Blue Bird) has composed the film’s original score. Opening in select theaters this weekend before expanding nationwide next Friday, October 31, is the comedy Bugonia directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Stavros Halkias, Alicia Silverstone and Aidan Delbis. The film’s original music is composed by Jerskin Fendrix (Poor Things, Kinds of Kindness). Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on October 31. Already playing in select theaters since this past Wednesday is the drama Hedda written and directed by Nia DaCosta and starring Tessa Thompson, Nina Hoss, Nicholas Pinnock, Imogen Poots and Tom Bateman. Hildur Guðnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl, Women Talking, A Haunting in Venice, Tar, Sicario: Day of the Soldado) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an EP featuring four songs produced by the composer on Wednesday. Also opening in select theaters is the biographical drama Last Days directed by Justin Lin and starring Sky Yang, Radhika Apte, Ken Leung, Toby Wallace, Ciara Bravo and Naveen Andrews. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Alexander (Disfluency, The Big Conn) and produced by Brian Tyler (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Iron Man 3, Fast & Furious, Crazy Rich Asians, Avengers: Age of Ultron). No word yet on a soundtrack release. The movie, which tells the story of 26-year-old John Allen Chau who embarks on a dangerous adventure across the globe to convert the uncontacted tribe of North Sentinel Island to Christianity, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed by Vertical.
Also opening in select theaters is the found footage horror movie Dream Eater written and directed by Jay Drakulic, Mallory Drumm & Alex Lee Williams and starring the directors themselves, Dainty Smith, Kelly Williams, David Richard, Brittany Hayward, Robin Akimbo and Sade Green.
