Composer Antonio Pinto (City of God, McFarland, USA, Lord of War, Nine DaysFlight RiskThe Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) is reuniting with director Asif Kapadia (The Return, Ali and Nino) on the upcoming British sports documentary Kenny Dalglish. The film is narrated by Dalglish himself and reveals the story of the Scotsman who is one of the Celtic’s and Liverpool’s greatest football players and a true icon of the sport for what he did off the pitch as much as on it. The movie features never-before-seen personal clips from his playing career and home life, as well as interviews with his wife Marina and footballing friends Graeme Souness and Alan Hansen. Kapadia is also producing the project for Lafcadia Productions, alongside Chris Clark (Johnny English Reborn, All the Money in the World) for RedRum Films and Ben Mawson for TaP23. Pinto has previously scored the director’s features AmySennaDiego Maradona and 2073. Kenny Dalglish will be released in UK and Irish theaters as a one-night-only event on October 29 before premiering in the two markets on November 4 on Prime Video.
