Lucaasfilm has confirmed that Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer, Black Panther, Creed,TenetTurning Red, Community, Venom) is set to score upcoming Star Wars feature The Mandalorian and Grogu. The film is directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man, The Jungle Book) and stars Pedro Pascal and Sigourney Weaver. The movie, which continues the events of Disney+’s The Mandalorian TV series, is set after the evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy, as the fledgling New Republic has enlisted the help of a legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter and his young apprentice Grogu to protect everything the Rebellion fought for. Favreau is also producing the project with Kathleen Kennedy (E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park), Dave Filoni (Ahsoka, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Ian Bryce (Spider-Man, Transformers). Göransson has previously scored the first two seasons of the Disney+ series and provided the themes for Season 3. The Mandalorian and Grogu is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2026 by Walt Disney Pictures.
