Composer Clinton Shorter (District 9, The Expanse, 2 Guns, Pompeii, Contraband, Colony, Code Black) is reuniting with director Joe Carnahan (Narc, The Grey) on the upcoming Netflix original film The Rip. The crime thriller starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Kyle Chandler, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Scott Adkins, Sasha Calle, Lina Esco & Nestor Carbonell follows a team of Miami cops who discover millions in cash inside a derelict stash house. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question, including who they can rely on. Affleck & Damon are also producing the Artists Equity production with Dani Bernfeld and Luciana Damon. Shorter has previously collaborated with Carnahan on the features Boss Level and Copshop. The Rip will premiere on January 16, 2026 on Netflix.
Shorter’s other recent projects include USA’s The Rainmaker, which just premiered last month.
