Will Bates (Immaculate, Unbelievable, The Better Sister, The Life List, I Origins, Away, The Path, Bliss, The Looming Tower) has been tapped to score the new Paramount+ original series NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The show is created by John McNamara (Trumbo, Aquarius) and stars Michael Weatherly & Cote de Pablo who reprise their roles of Anthony DiNozzo & Ziva David from the original NCIS series, as well as Amita Suman, Lara Rossi, Maximilian Osinski, Isla Gie, Nassima Benchicou, Julian Ovenden, Terence Maynard and James D’Arcy. The drama follows the titular former agents as they are on the run against a dangerous conspiracy, learning to co-parent and stay alive. McNamara serves as the project’s showrunner and is also executive producing the CBS Studios production with de Pablo, Weatherly, Laurie Lieser, Christina Strain (Finding ‘Ohana), Shelley Meals (Shadow and Bone) and Mairzee Almas. Bates has previously collaborated with McNamara on Syfy’s The Magicians. NCIS: Tony & Ziva will premiere tomorrow, September 4 exclusively on Paramount+.
Bates’ recent projects also include Tuner, which just premiered this past weekend at the and will also screen at this month at the Toronto International Film Festival, as well as Eric Lin’s Rosemead, which premiered at this year’ s Tribeca Film Festival and has recently been picked up Vertical for a domestic release in theaters this December. He also has the third season of AMC’s Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches coming up.
