Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the comedy The Roses. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Theodore Shapiro (SeveranceThe Devil Wears PradaA Simple FavorTropic ThunderGhostbustersMarley & MeSpy). Also included are two new duets performed by Susanna Hoffs: Happy Together with Rufus Wainwright, and Love Hurts with Eric D. Johnson of Fruit Bats and Bonny Light Horseman. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 22 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Roses is directed by Jay Roach and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman, Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Belinda Bromilow, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao and Kate McKinnon. The reimagining of Danny DeVito’s 1989 classic The War of the Roses is Tony McNamara and follows a married couple who fell madly in love when they first met, but whose marriage slowly unravels under the pressure of modern family dynamics. The comedy will be released in theaters nationwide on August 29 by Searchlight Pictures.
