Composer Antony Partos (99 Homes, I Am Mother, The Artful Dodger, Fahrenheit 451, Adore) is reteaming with director David Michôd (The King, War Machine) on the upcoming biographical sports drama Christy. The film stars Sydney Sweeney in the title role, alongside Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, Katy O’Brian, Jess Gabor, Ethan Embry and Chad L. Coleman. The movie tells the true story of Christy Martin who rose to fame as America’s most successful female boxer in the 1990s while dealing with personal demons and toxic relationships behind the scenes. Michôd also co-wrote the screenplay with Mirrah Foulkes (Judy & Punch). He is also producing the project with Sweeney, Teddy Schwarzman (The Imitation Game, All Is Lost) for Black Bear Pictures, Kerry Kohansky-Roberts (Boy Erased, Admission) for Anonymous Content, as well as Justin Lothrop & Brent Stiefel (Cold Copy) for Votiv. Partos has previously collaborated with Michod on the features Animal Kingdom and The Rover. Christy will premiere this September at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival.
