Plaza Mayor Company has released a soundtrack album for the French comedy Meet the Barbarians (Les barbares). The album features the film’s original music composed by Philippe Jakko (Enemy Lines, 5lbs of Pressure, Notre Dame, Kaufman’s Game, Allies). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. Meet the Barbarians is co-written and directed by Julie Delpy and stars Delpy herself, Sandrine Kiberlain, Laurent Lafitte, Ziad Bakri, India Hair, Dalia Naous, Jean-Charles Clichet and Mathieu Demy. The movie follows a group of inhabitants of a small town in France as they are preparing to welcome a Ukrainian refugee family and are surprised when a Syrian family shows up instead. The comedy premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and just opened in French theaters last month. No domestic distribution deal has been announced yet.
