Composer, singer/songwriter and pianist Emily Bear (The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical, Dog Gone, The Premise) has recently scored the upcoming comedy drama K-Pops. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Anderson .Paak and stars the singer himself, alongside Soul Rasheed, Jee Young Han, Jonnie “Dumbfoundead” Park and Yvette Nicole Brown. The movie follows a washed-up drummer from LA who attempts to reinvigorate his career by joining the band for a K-Pop competition show in Seoul and discovers that his long-lost son has the chance to front one of the country’s hottest new groups. Anderson .Paak also co-wrote the screenplay with Khaila Amazan and is producing the project with Park, Greg Silverman (Space Cadet, Pink Skies Ahead), Jon Berg (Elf, Doctor Sleep) and Jaeson Ma. K-Pops will premiere next month at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival.

Bear has also co-written the original songs for Disney’s Moana 2 (with Abigail Barlow), which will be released in theaters nationwide on November 27.
