D36 has released a soundtrack album for the Pakistani drama Joyland. The album features the film’s original score composed by Abdullah Siddiqui. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. Joyland is written and directed by Saim Sadiq and stars Ali Junejo, Rasti Farooq, Sarwat Gilani, Alina Khan and Salmaan Peerzada. The movie tells the story of the youngest son in a traditional Pakistani family who takes a job as a backup dancer in a burlesque and quickly becomes infatuated with the trans woman who runs the show. The drama, which premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and was selected (and shortlisted) as the Pakistani entry for last year’s Academy Awards, and was released in select U.S. theaters this past April by Oscilloscope Laboratories. The film is now also available on VOD.
