Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, Emma, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, Vita & Virginia, The Phantom of the Open, Roar, Munich: The Edge of War) is scoring the upcoming British period comedy Wicked Little Letters. The film is directed by Thea Sharrock (Me Before You, The One and Only Ivan) and stars Olivia Colman, Jessie Buckley, Anjana Vasan and Timothy Spall. The movie follows two neighbours who get on each other’s nerves in a small English town in the 1920s, where residents start receiving anonymous letters, igniting a scandal in their community. Jonny Sweet (Together) wrote the screenplay. Colman is also producing the project with Blueprint Pictures’ Graham Broadbent & Pete Czernin (The Banshees of Inisherin, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Ed Sinclair (Landscapers) and Jo Wallett (Catherine, Called Birdy). Wicked Little Letters will premiere this month at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
As previously reported, Waller-Bridge also has the Sam Yates’ thriller Magpie starring Daisy Ridley coming up.
