Dickon Hinchliffe (The Lost Daughter, Winter’s Bone, Locke, Leave No Trace, Out of the Furnace, Last Chance Harvey) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Daddio. The film is written and directed by Christy Hall (I Am Not Okay with This) and stars Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn. The movie follows a woman who steps into a New York cab at the airport, driven by a curbside philosopher who engages her in conversation which starts in small talk then gets bigger, deeper, and riskier as he steers her to her destination. Hall & Johnson are also producing the project with Terry Dougas (Good Time, Jane Got a Gun), Emma Tillinger Koskoff (Joker, The Irishman), Ro Donnelly (Cha Cha Real Smooth, Am I OK?) and Paris Kassidokostas-Latsis (Bruised, Blood). Daddio is premiering today at the Telluride Film Festival and will also screen later this month at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Hinchliffe’s other recent projects include Karim Aïnouz’s Firebrand, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is currently awaiting a distribution deal in the U.S.
