Mark Ronson & Andrew Wyatt (A Star Is Born) have taken over scoring duties on upcoming fantasy comedy Barbie. The film is directed by Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird, Little Women) and stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, Will Ferrell, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ana Cruz Kayne, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, Alexandra Shipp, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Simu Liu, Ritu Arya, Dua Lipa (who also provides an original song to the movie) and Helen Mirren. Gerwig also co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach (Marriage Story, The Squid and the Whale) based on Barbie by Mattel. Robbie is also producing the project with David Heyman (Gravity), Tom Ackerley and Robbie Brenner. As previously reported, Alexandre Desplat was originally attached to score the movie. Barbie is set to be released in theaters nationwide on July 21, 2023 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
