Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, The House with a Clock in Its Walls, Cabin Fever, Hostel) & Damian Kulash (of the rock band OK Go) have teamed up to compose the score the upcoming comedy drama The Beanie Bubble. The film is directed by Kristin Gore & Kulash himself and stars Zach Galifianakis, Elizabeth Banks, Sarah Snook, Tracey Bonner and Geraldine Viswanathan. The movie is inspired by by Zac Bissonette’s book The Great Beanie Baby Bubble: Mass Delusion and the Dark Side of Cute tells the story of a frustrated toy salesman who – with the help of three women – grew his masterstroke of an idea into the biggest toy craze in history. Gore also wrote the screenplay. Brian Grazer & Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) are producing the Imagine Entertainment production with Karen Lunder (Thirteen Lives, Gifted). The Beanie Bubble will be released in select theaters on July 21, 2023 before premiering on July 28 on Apple TV+.
Barr’s other recent projects include the Gary Dauberman’s Salem’s Lot, which is currently awaiting a new release date, the third season of Hulu’s The Great, which just premiered last Friday, as well as the Netflix series The Diplomat, which has just been renewed for a second season.
