Anne Chmelewsky (Where Hands TouchThe Shepherd, To Cook a Bear, MaestraGuillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of CuriositiesOnly People) is the composer of the new BBC drama The Other Bennet Sister. The show is developed by Sarah Quintrell (The Power) based on Janice Hadlow’s novel of the same name and stars Ella Bruccoleri, Ruth Jones, Richard E. Grant, Indira Varma, Tanya Reynolds, Richard Coyle, Dónal Finn, Laurie Davidson, Varada Sethu, Maddie Close, Molly Wright, Poppy Gilbert and Grace Hogg-Robinson. The 10-part series follows Mary Bennet, the seemingly unremarkable and overlooked middle sister in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, as she steps out of her sisters’ shadows in search of her own identity and purpose. Quintrell & Hadlow are also executive producing the Bad Wolf production with Kate Crowther (Industry, Dope Girls), Becca Kinder, Jane Tranter (Succession, His Dark Materials) and Rebecca Ferguson (Doctor Who, The Capture). The Other Bennet Sister is premiering in the UK tonight on BBC One (and will also be available to stream on the BBCiPlayer) and will debut in the U.S. on May 6 on BritBox.
