Composer Joseph Trapanese (The Witcher, Oblivion, Shadow and Bone, The Greatest Showman, David, Straight Outta Compton, The Raid: Redemption, Arctic) is reteaming with writer/director BenDavid Grabinski on the upcoming action comedy Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice. The film is written and directed by Grabinski and stars Vince Vaughn, James Marsden, Eiza González, Keith David, Stephen Root, Jimmy Tatro, Lewis Tan, Ben Schwartz, Emily Hampshire and Arturo Castro. The movie follows two gangsters and the woman they love as they are trying to survive the most dangerous night of their lives, with one wild ingredient added to the mix: a time machine. Andrew Lazar (American Sniper, Get Smart) is producing the 20th Century Studios and Mad Chance production. Trapanese has previously collaborated with Grabinski on the 2021 feature Happily and the TV shows Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. He has also scored the Lazar-produced action thriller G20. Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice will premiere next week at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival before making its streaming debut on March 27 on Hulu (and on Disney+ in most major international markets). A soundtrack album will be released by Hollywood Records.
Trapanese’s other recent projects include Drew Kirsch’s He Bled Neon (co-scored with Zhu), which will also premiere at SXSW, as well as Peter Atencio’s Animal Friends, which is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on June 5 by Warner Bros. Pictures. He also continues to score Netflix’s The Witcher, which will return for a fifth and final season, as well as NBC’s Brilliant Minds.
