Tom Howe (Dog Man, Ted Lasso, Knuckles, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Daisy Jones & the Six, Early Man, Book Club: The New Chapter) has provided the original score for the new MGM+ original series American Classic. The show is created by Michael Hoffman (One Fine Day, Promised Land) & Bob Martin (The Prom, Sensitive Skin) and stars Kevin Kline, Laura Linney, Jon Tenney, Len Cariou, Jessica Hecht, Nell Verlaque, Tony Shalhoub, Billy Carter, Ajay Friese, Stephen Spinella, Aaron Tveit, Jane Alexander, Elise Kibler and Mark Linn-Baker. The comedy follows a Broadway star who returns home after a public meltdown to find his family’s theater in severe decline and decides only he can save it. Hoffman, Martin, Kline, Linney & Tenney are also executive producing the Fifth Season, Mar-Key Pictures, Likely Story & Anonymous Content production with Ellen Fairey, Leslie Urdang (Beginners, Rabbit Hole), Anthony Bregman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sing Street) and Miriam Mintz. American Classic will premiere tomorrow, March 1 on MGM+.
Howe’s other recent projects include Vanessa Caswill’s Reminders of Him, which will be released in theaters nationwide on March 13. He also continues to score Apple TV’s Ted Lasso and Shrinking.
