Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Alien: Earth, Ripley, Zero Day, The Night Of, Legion, The Man Who Feel to Earth) has teamed up with Perrine Virgile (The Umbrella Academy, Long Slow Exhale) to score the upcoming Prime Video original series Scarpetta. The show is developed by Liz Sarnoff (Barry, Marco Polo) based on Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling Kay Scarpetta book series and stars Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, Ariana DeBose, Simon Baker, Rosy McEwen, Hunter Parrish, Jake Cannavale and Amanda Righetti. The crime thriller follows the title character who returns to her hometown, where she resumes her former position as Chief Medical Examiner while investigating a grisly murder and must navigate complicated relationships, including the fraught dynamic with her sister. Sarnoff, Cornwell, Kidman & Lee Curtis are also executive producing the Amazon MGM Studios production with Per Saari (Big Little Lies, The Perfect Couple), Amy Sayres, Blumhouse Television’s Jason Blum (Get Out, Five Nights at Freddy’s), Jeremy Gold (Sharp Objects, The Loudest Voice), Chris Dickie & Chris McCumber (The Bondsman, The Horror of Dolores Roach), as well as David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Halloween) who also directed five episodes. Scarpetta will premiere on March 11, 2026 exclusively on Prime Video.
Russo also has the Apple TV limited series Cape Fear coming up. He also continues to score FX’s Alien: Earth, Paramount+’s Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Netflix’s Untamed, Prime Video’s Ballard and co-score Apple TV’s Far All Mankind.
