Walt Disney Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Disney Junior animated series Ariel – The Little Mermaid. The album features eleven songs from the second season of the show inspired by the diverse genres of Caribbean music, written by a songwriting team comprised of Anthony M. Jones (Tone), Sofia Quinn, Olivia Waithe, Michelle Zarlenga, Chantry Johnson & Rosemarie Tan and performed by the project’s voice cast. The label has previously released an album featuring the songs from Season 1 back in 2024. Ariel is based on Disney’s 1989 animated classic The Little Mermaid and features the voices of Mykal-Michelle Harris, Taye Diggs, Amber Riley, Gracen Newton, Elizabeth Phoenix Caro, Cruz Flateau, Kai Zen, as well as Jodi Benson who voiced Ariel in the original film and guest stars in the new season as Marina Neptina, the title character’s favorite singer. Season 2 of the series (scored by Christopher Willis) premiered last November on Disney Junior and just made its streaming debut last Wednesday on Disney+.
