Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1992 mystery drama Waterland directed by Stephen Gyllenhaal and starring Jeremy Irons, Sinéad Cusack, Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey and Pete Postlethwaite. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Carol, The Banshees of Inisherin, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Fargo, Twilight, True Grit, The Blind Side, Anomalisa). The soundtrack is now available to order as a CD on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release. Waterland based on Graham Swift’s 1983 novel of the same title tells the story of a middle-aged high-school history teacher who is forced into early retirement and uses his family’s traumatic history to illustrate lessons for his students. The movie was released in U.S. theaters in 1992 by Fine Line Features and is now available on VOD and DVD.
