Dragon’s Domain Records has released a new soundtrack album for the 1990 movie adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel The Handmaid’s Tale directed by Volker Schlöndorff and starring Natasha Richardson, Faye Dunaway, Aidan Quinn, Elizabeth McGovern, Victoria Tennant and Robert Duvall. The 35th Anniversary Edition features the newly remastered original score composed by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, The Revenant, Little Buddha, The Sheltering Sky, Snake Eyes). The CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. GNP Crescendo has previously released the original 1990 soundtrack album. The Handmaid’s Tale is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
