Théo Chapira has released a soundtrack album for the French/Japanese documentary Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist (Satoshi Kon, l’illusionniste). The album features the composer’s original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Satoshi Kon: The Illusionist is directed by Pascal-Alex Vincent and centers on the late anime director, a leading figure in animation and most influential contemporary Japanese artists who died suddenly in 2010 at the age of 46 and left behind a small collection of unfinished work. The movie features interviews with international artists who have been influenced by his work, including Darren Aronofsky and Rodney Rothman. The documentary premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and screened at numerous other major film festivals over the last couple of years.
