Chris Benstead is the composer of the upcoming British Prime Video original series Young Sherlock. The show is written by Matthew Parkhill (Hotel Costiera, Deep State), directed by Guy Ritchie (Sherlock Holmes, Snatch) and stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the title role, alongside Dónal Finn, Joseph Fiennes, Zine Tseng, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons and Colin Firth. The drama charts the origin story of Sherlock Holmes and follows the iconic detective as a disgraced young man who finds himself wrapped up in a murder case that threatens his liberty. Parkhill & Ritchie are also executive producing the Motive Pictures production with Dhana Gilbert (Etoile), Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell (The Woman in the Wall, Get Millie Black), Ivan Atkinson (MobLand, The Diamond Heist), Simon Kelton and Colin Wilson (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Casper). Benstead has previously collaborated with Ritchie on the features The Gentlemen (and the Netflix series of the same title), Wrath of ManThe Covenant, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre and The Fountain of Youth. Young Sherlock will premiere in early 2026 on Prime Video.

Benstead is also expected to return to score the second season of Netflix’s The Gentlemen.
