Joseph LoDuca (The Evil Dead, Xena: Warrior Princess, Chucky, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, The Librarians, Leverage) is returning to score the new Starz original series Spartacus: House of Ashur. The show is developed by Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil, Jupiter’s Legacy) and stars Nick E. Tarabay who reprises his role as Ashur, alongside Graham McTavish, Tenika Davis, Jordi Webber, Jamaica Vaughan, Ivana Baquero, Claudia Black, Jackson Gallagher, Jaime Slater, India Shaw-Smith and Leigh Gill. The gladiator drama follows Ashur as he has clawed his way to power and flips tradition on its head by unleashing Achillia, a fierce and powerful gladiatrix eager to prove herself worthy in a man’s world. DeKnight serves as the project’s showrunner and is also executive producing the Lionsgate Television production with Rick Jacobson (Ash vs. Evil Dead) and Aaron Helbing (The Flash, Knightfall). LoDuca has previously scored the original three Spartacus seasons, Blood and Sand, Vengeance & War of the Damned, as well as the prequel series Gods of the Arena, which all premiered between 2010 and 2013. Spartacus: House of Ashur will debut this Friday, December 5 on Starz.
LoDuca also continues to score TNT’s The Librarians: The Next Chapter, which will return for its second season next year.
