Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for the comedy drama Rental Family. The album features the film’s original music composed by Sigur Rós lead singer Jónsi (We Bought a Zoo, Without Remorse, Aloha) and Alex Somers (Nickel Boys, Captain Fantastic, Holland, Honey Boy, Causeway, Together, Together, Dawson City: Frozen Time). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 21 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composers’ first two tracks below. Rental Family is co-written and directed by Hikari and stars Brendan Fraser, Takehiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Mahina Gorman and Akira Emoto. The movie is set against modern-day Tokyo and follows an American actorwho struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese “rental family” agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers. The dramedy premiered at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and is being released in theaters nationwide this weekend by Searchlight Pictures.
