Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi action thriller The Running Man co-written and directed by Edgar Wright and starring Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Emilia Jones, Colman Domingo, William H. Macy, Michael Cera,Daniel Ezra and Jayme Lawson. The film’s original music is composed by Steven Price (Gravity, Fury, Last Night in Soho, Our Planet,Suicide Squad, Over the Moon, Baby Driver, The Aeronauts, Heads of State, My Policeman, Heart of Stone). Also opening wide is the heist thriller sequel Now You See Me: Now You Don’t directed by Ruben Fleischer and starring Jesse Eisenberg, Dave Franco, Woody Harrelson, Justice Smith, Isla Fisher, Morgan Freeman, Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt and Rosamund Pike. Brian Tyler (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Fast & Furious, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Yellowstone, Crazy Rich Asians, Thor: The Dark World) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Friday, November 21 (click here to listen to two first tracks) and Interscope Records has released Reneé Rapp’s original song Lucky last month (click here to check out the song and for more information about the Lionsgate release).
Also opening nationwide is the supernatural horror thriller Keeper directed by Osgood Perkins and stars Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland. The film’s original music is composed by Edo Van Breemen (The Monkey, Air, The Backward Class, Afflicted, Hollow in the Land). Filmtrax/Atlantic Screen Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 700 theaters is the action thriller King Ivory written and directed by John Swab and starring James Badge Dale, Ben Foster, Michael Mando, Ritchie Coster, Rory Cochrane, George Carroll, Graham Green, Melissa Leo and Sam Quartin. The film doesn’t feature an original score and no soundtrack release is expected. Jeremy M. Rosen serve as the project’s music supervisor. The movie, which is set against the backdrop of the opioid epidemic and follows a Tulsa drug cop whose son Jack becomes an addict, premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and is being distributed by Roadside Attractions & Saban Films.
