Composer Dan Romer (Lilo & Stitch, Station Eleven, Luca, Superman & Lois, Maniac, Beasts of No Nation,Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Good Doctor) is reuniting with director Drake Doremus (Like Crazy, Equals) on the upcoming romantic comedy drama Next Life. The film is written and directed by Doremus and stars Emilia Clarke, Edgar Ramírez and Jack Farthing. The movie tells the love story of a young woman who finds herself confronted with parallel universes in which her life unspools in very different ways set against the modern London jazz scene. Doremus and Clarke are also producing the project with Mutressa’s Elika Portnoy (John and the Hole), Fetisoff Illusion’s Gleb Fetisov (Loveless, The Piper), 42’s Ben Pugh (The Courier, The Autopsy of Jane Doe) & Kate Buckley, as well as John Palfery Smith. Romer has previously scored Doremus’ 2018 feature Zoe. Next Life is expected to premiere in 2026. (Deadline)
