Composer Adrian Johnston (Becoming Jane, Lassie, Kinky Boots, The Child in Time, Brideshead Revisited, Dancing on the Edge, A Very Royal Scandal, The Tunnel) is reuniting with director Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City) on the upcoming horror movie Primate. The film starring Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander, Troy Kotsur, Victoria Wyant, Benjamin Cheng, Gia Hunter, Charlie Mann & Tienne Simon follows a group of friends whose tropical vacation turns into a terrifying, primal tale of horror and survival. Roberts also co-wrote the screenplay with Ernest Riera (The Other Side of the Door). Walter Hamada, John Hodges (The Kings of Summer, Fire Island) and Bradley Pilz (Seberg, The Wolf Hour) are producing the 18Hz production. Johnston has previously collaborated with Roberts on 2018’s The Strangers: Prey at Night. Primate will be released in theaters nationwide on January 9, 2026 by Paramount Pictures.
