Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, The Gift, Enemy, Speak No Evil, The Staircase, Boy Erased, Presumed Innocent, Smoke, The White Tiger) have composed the original music for the new Apple TV+ limited series The Savant. The show is created by Melissa James Gibson (House of Cards, Anatomy of a Scandal) based on an article by Andrea Stanley. and stars Jessica Chastain, Nnamdi Asomugha, Jordana Spiro, Cole Doman, Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste and Pablo Schreiber. The 8-part thriller follows an undercover investigator known as “The Savant” as she infiltrates online hate groups in an effort to stop domestic extremists before they act. Gibson is also executive producing the Fifth Season production with Chastain & Kelly Carmichael (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, George & Tammy) for Freckle Films, Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, hTe Newsroom), Matthew Heineman (A Private War, Cartel Land), as well as David Levine (Nickel Boys, Saint X) & Garrett Kemble for Anonymous Content. Bensi & Jurriaans have previously scored the Poul-produced (HBO) Max series Tokyo Vice. The Savant will premiere next Friday, September 26 exclusively on Apple TV+.
Bensi’s & Jurriaanss’ other recent projects include the Netflix limited series Black Rabbit (to premiere this Thursday, September 18), the Netflix animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch (to premiere on October 14), Jan Komasa’s feature Anniversary (to be released in theaters on October 29), as well as the third season of Paramount+’s Tulsa King (to premiere this Sunday, September 21).
