Todor Kobakov (Born to Be BlueThe Samaritan, 40 Acres, Backstabbing for Beginners, Most Dangerous Game, TrickstersSweetness in the Belly) has recently scored the upcoming Canadian sports drama Youngblood. The film is directed by Hubert Davis (Black Ice) and stars Ashton James, Blair Underwood, Henri Picard, Shawn Doyle, Tamara Podemski, Donald MacLean Jr., Alexandra McDonald and Allan Hawco. The movie is based on the 1986 cult classic of the same title (starring Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze & Keanu Reeves and scored by William Orbit) and follows a hockey prodigy who joins the Hamilton Mustangs and discovers that he must face off against toxic behavior on the ice and within himself to fulfill his potential as professional hockey player. Josh Epstein & Kyle Rideout (Adventures in Public School) wrote the screenplay with Seneca Aaron and Charles Officer (Akilla’s Escape). Anthony Leo & Andrew Rosen (Geek Girl, he Breadwinner) are producing the project for Aircraft Pictures and Dolphin Entertainment. Youngblood is premiering this week at the Toronto International Film Festival.
