Christopher Bear (of the rock band Grizzly Bear) (Past Lives, High Maintenance, Mother, Couch, Adults, Swallowed, The Passenger) has composed the original score for the upcoming romantic crime thriller Carolina Caroline. The film is directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier (Dinner in America, Snack Shack) and stars Samara Weaving, Kyle Gallner, Kyra Sedgwick and Jon Gries. The movie tells the story of a young woman who skips her small town in search of her estranged mother, when she meets and falls in love with a charismatic con man. Tom Dean (Charlie Harper) wrote the screenplay. Trevor White & Tim White (King Richard, Ingrid Goes West), Eric B. Fleischman (Flower, Sleight), Stephen Braun & Chris Ward (Sacramento, Singing in My Sleep), Chris Abernathy are producing the project. Carolina Caroline will premiere this weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Bear also has Derek Cianfrance’s Roofman (also premiering at IFF and set to be released in theaters on October 10) coming up. His other recent projects include Cole Webley’s Omaha and Matthew Shear’s Fantasy Life, which will be released in the coming months by Greenwich Entertainment.
