Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the superhero comedy The Toxic Avenger. The album features the film’s original score composed by Brooke Blair & Will Blair (Green Room, Rebel Ridge, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, The Informer, Hold the Dark, Black Christmas, Blue Ruin, Sweet Virginia). Also included are the original songs The Good Things written by the Blair Brothers and performed by The Whoopsie Dews feat. Vaughn Faison and (We Are) Crazy and Dangerous My Baby Is an Axe written by Brooke, Will & Macon Blair and performed by The Killer Nutz, as well as tracks by The Giraffes and East Hundred. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 29 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The Toxic Avenger is written and directed by Macon Blair and stars Peter Dinklage, Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay, Julia Davis and Taylour Paige. The Legendary Entertainment production based on the midnight movie franchise created by Lloyd Kaufman follows a downtrodden janitor who gets transformed into a hero after a horrible toxic accident and must race against time to save his son and stop a ruthless tyrant bent on harnessing toxic superpowers to strengthen his polluted empire. The comedy premiered at the 2023 Fantastic Fest and is being released in theaters nationwide this weekend by Cineverse.
