Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Speak No Evil, The Outsider, Enemy, Smoke, The Gift, The Staircase, Boy Erased, The White Tiger, Tokyo Vice) have composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix limited series Black Rabbit. The show is created by Zach Baylin (King Richard, Creed III) & Kate Susman and stars Jude Law, Jason Bateman, Cleopatra Coleman, Ṣọpẹ Dìrísù, Troy Kotsur and Amaka Okafor. The 8-part thriller follows a rising-star restaurateur who is forced into New York’s criminal underworld ,when his chaotic brother returns to town with loan sharks on his trail. Baylin & Susman are also executive producing the project for Youngblood Pictures, alongside Bateman & Michael Costigan (Out of the Furnace, Hit Man) for Aggregate Films, Law & Ben Jackson (True Things) for Riff Raff Entertainment, as well as Andrew Hinderaker (Away, Let the Right One In), Zac Frognowski, Justin Levy (Kaleidoscope, Treadstone), David Bernon (Good on Paper, Lemon) and Erica Kay (Dead Ringers). Bateman (who previously starred in and executive produced the Bensi & Jurrriaans-scored Netflix series Ozark) has also directed the first two episodes. The other six episodes are helmed by Laura Linney (Episodes 3 & 4), Ben Semanoff (Episodes 5 & 6) and Justin Kurzel (The Snowtown Murders, The Order) (Episodes 7 & 8). Black Rabbit will premiere on September 18 exclusively on Netflix.
Bensi & Jurriaans’ other upcoming projects include the Netflix animated series Splinter Cell: Deathwatch (to premiere on October 14) and Jan Komasa’s feature Anniversary (to open in theaters on October 29). Thhey are also expected to return to score Season 2 of Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent and Season 3 of Paramount+’s Tulsa King.
