Composer George Fenton (Dangerous LiaisonsGroundhog Day, Anna and the King,  The Blue PlanetHitch) is reuniting with director Nicholas Hytner on the upcoming British comedy drama The Choral. The film is written by Alan Bennett and stars Ralph Fiennes, Jim Broadbent and Simon Russell Beale. The movie takes place in Ramsden, Yorkshire, 1916 and follows a group of teenage boys and girls who join the ambitious local Choral and discover the joys of singing and the urgency of desire as the new boys come to terms with their imminent conscription into the army. Hytner is also producing the project with Kevin Loader (The Death of Stalin, In the Loop) and Damian Jones (The Iron Lady, Belle). Fenton has previously collaborated with the director on such features The Madness of King George, The History Boys, The Object of My AffectionThe Crucible, Center Stage and The Lady in the Van. The Choral will premiere this September at the Toronto International Film Festival and has been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics for domestic distribution.
