Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Ripley, The Umbrella Academy, The Night Of, For All Mankind, Zero Day, Legion) is returning to score the new Prime Video original series Ballard. The spinoff of the streamer’s Bosch: Legacy (which Russo scored during its entire run between 2022 and early 2025) is based on Michael Connelly’s bestselling novels and stars Maggie Q, Titus Welliver, John Carroll Lynch, Courtney Taylor, Michael Mosley, Victoria Moroles, Rebecca Field, Amy Hill, Ricardo Chavira, Alain Uy, Noah Bean and Hector Hugo. The drama follows Detective Renée Ballard as she leads the LAPD’s new and underfunded cold case division, tackling the city’s most challenging long-forgotten crimes with empathy and relentless determination. Connelly is also executive producing the project with Henrik Bastin (Bosch, Brilliant Minds), showrunners Michael Alaimo & Kendall Sherwood, as well as Trish Hofmann (Modern Love, Dumplin’), Jet Wilkinson (Percy Jackson & the Olympians, The Chi) and Melissa Aouate (Hit the Road). Ballard is premiering today exclusively on Prime Video.
