Planet E Communications will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Desire: The Carl Craig Story. The album features music by the film’s subject, techno producer, DJ & record label creator Carl Craig, and includes tracks across his many monikers (69, Psyche/BFC, Innerzone Orchestra). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, June 20 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD and vinyl edition will be coming out next month and is available for pre-order here (vinyl edition) and here (CD version) Two first tracks are already available to stream/download now and can be checked out below. Desire: The Carl Craig Story is directed by Jean-Cosme Delaloye and follows Craig’s journey from Detroit’s middle-class roots to global stardom, set against the city’s decline and recovery, and explores his work at the intersection of music, art, and culture, from his collaborations with Bottega Veneta to his Party/After-Party installation, acquired by the Detroit Institute of Arts and exhibited at MOCA Los Angeles. The movie premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and has recently been released in select UK theaters. No domestic release date has been announced yet.
