Composer and electronic recording artist Blanck Mass (aka Benjamin John Power) (Ted K, The Rig, Gazza) is reteaming with director Nick Rowland on the upcoming crime thriller She Rides Shotgun. The film is based on based on Jordan Harper’s novel of the same title and stars Taron Egerton, Ana Sophia Heger, Rob Yang, John Carroll Lynch, David Lyons and Odessa A’zion. The movie follows a newly released ex-con who is marked for death by unrelenting enemies and must now protect his estranged eleven-year-old daughter at all costs. Rowland & Harper are co-wrote the screenplay with Ben Collins & Luke Piotrowski (The Night House, Hellraiser). Egerton is also producing the project with Brad Weston (Footloose, Queen & Slim) and Collin Creighton (Opus) for Makeready, as well as Hiro Murai & Nate Matteson (The Bear, Station Eleven) for Superfrog. Blanck Mass has previously collaborated with Rowland on the director’s first feature, Calm with Horses, and also scored the filmmaker’s BBC drama Floodlights. She Rides Shotgun will be released in select U.S. theaters on August 1 by Lionsgate.
