Fernando Velázquez (The ImpossibleA Monster CallsHercules, The Orphanage, Crimson Peak, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Devil) is scoring the upcoming animated feature Spiked. The film is directed by Caroline Origer (My Fairy Troublemaker) and features the voices of Matthew Goode, Kila Lord Cassidy, Charlie Reid, Teresa Gallagher, Rasmus Hardiker, Jushua Rubin and Swampy. The movie tells the story of young, courageous hedgehog sheltered by her overprotective father and an overworked, exhausted rabbit with a few dozen kids of his own who crash into each other’s lives. David Freedman (The Magic Snowflake) and Jules de Jongh wrote the screenplay. Mark Mertens (Spy Cat), Jean-Marie Musique & Christine Parisse (Luis and Tthe Aliens, Two by Two: Overboard!) are producing the project for Fabrique D’Images, alongside Vladimir Kokh for Fantaboulous and Jean-Yves Roubin (Bring Them Down) for Freack Factory. Spiked will premiere this July at the 2025 Annecy Animation Festival and is expected to be released in several European markets later this year.
