Composer Bobby Krlic (aka The Haxan Cloak) (Blue Beetle, Beef, Snowpiercer, The Alienist: Angel of Darkness, Invasion, Paper Girls) is reteaming with director Ari Aster (Hereditary) on the upcoming contemporary western/comedy Eddington. The film is written and directed by Aster and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Austin Butler, Emma Stone, Luke Grimes, Clifton Collins Jr., Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward, Amélie Hoeferle and William Belleau. The movie takes place in May of 2020 and centers on a standoff between a small-town sheriff and mayor that sparks a powder keg as neighbor is pitted against neighbor in the titular New Mexico town. Aster is also producing the project with Lars Knudsen (The Northman, American Honey). Krlic has previously scored Aster’s last two features, Midsommar and Beau Is Afraid. Eddington will premiere this May at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released later this year by A24.
As previously reported, Krlic also has Justin Tipping’s Him (to be released in theaters on September 19) coming up.
