Matt Bellamy (of the rock band Muse) has joined Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust, Layer CakeThe Young VictoriaStill Alice) to co-score the new Paramount+ original series MobLand. The show is created by Ronan Bennett (The Day of the Jackal, Public Enemies) and stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, Lara Pulver, Anson Boon, Mandeep Dhillon, Daniel Betts, Jasmine Jobson, Geoff Bell, Emily Barber, Lisa Dwan and Helen Mirren. The crime drama centers on two warring London mob families who clash in a kill-or-be-killed battle that threatens to topple empires and ruin lives . Bennett & Hardy also executive producing the MTV Entertainment Studios & 101 Studios production with Guy Ritchie (Snatch, Sherlock Holmes), Ivan Atkinson (The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man), Jez Butterworth (Ford v Ferrari, Edge of Tomorrow), David C. Glasser (Yellowstone, 1883), Keith Cox (Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness), Ron Burkle (Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Tulsa King), David Hutkin (Waco: The Aftermath) Nina L. Diaz (The Agency), Kris Thykier (The Debt, Woman in Gold), Dean Baker (Great Expectations, Taboo) and Bob Yari (Crash, The Illusionist). The project marks Bellamy’s television scoring debut. He has previously collaborated with Eshkeri to co-score Audible’s dramatization of George Orwell’s 1984 audiobook. MobLand will premiere tomorrow exclusively on Paramount+.
