Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BritBox/ITV drama A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Bay, Anne, The Spanish Princess, The Halcyon, DominaHome Fires). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 28 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story is written by Kelly Jones based on Carol Ann Lee’s biography A Fine Day for Hanging and stars Lucy Boynton, Toby Jones, Laurie Davidson, Mark Stanley and Bessie Carter. The 4-part true crime drama directed by Lee Haven Jones tells the story of the last woman in Britain to be hanged and reveals hidden truths about a love triangle that ultimately ended in tragedy. The series premiered in the U.S. last month on BritBox and made its UK debut earlier this month on ITV & ITVX.
