La La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1969 period drama The Reivers directed by Mark Rydell and starring Steve McQueen, Sharon Farrell, Will Geer, Michael Constantine, Mitch Vogel and Rupert Crosse. The 2-CD set features the remastered and expanded original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Williams (Star Wars, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), including previously unreleased music. Also included are several alternate cues, as well Williams’ concert suite for the movie as recorded for the 1994 Boston Pops album Music for Stage and Screen. The soundtrack, which is limited to 2,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release. The Reivers is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
