Joseph Stephens (Observe and Report, Eastbound & Down, The Righteous Gemstones, Vice Principals, Upload, Flower) has composed the original score for the new Netflix original series Running Point. The show is created by Mindy Kaling, Ike Barinholtz & David Stassen (Central Intelligence, The Oath) and stars Kate Hudson, Drew Tarver, Brenda Song, Justin Theroux, Scott MacArthur, Chet Hanks, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman and Max Greenfield. The comedy follows a reformed party girl who must prove herself as a businesswoman when she’s unexpectedly put in charge of the pro basketball team of her family. Kaling, Barinholtz, Stassen & Hudson are also executive producing the Kaling International & Warner Bros. Television production with 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein (The Office, Parks and Recreation), Jeanie Buss and Linda Rambis (Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers). Stephens has previously scored all seasons of the Kaling-created and -produced Netflix series Never Have I Ever and Max series The Sex Lives of College Girls. Running Point will premiere this Thursday, February 27 exclusively on Netflix.
Stephens also continues to score HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones, which will return for its fourth and final season on March 9.
