Dan Romer (Luca, ManiacSuperman & Lois, Station Eleven, Beasts of No NationThe Good Doctor,  Beasts of the Southern Wild) & Giosuè Greco (Didi, Welcome to Wrexham, Let the Right One InNai Nai & Wài Pó) have taken over scoring duties on the upcoming horror comedy Death of a Unicorn. The film marks the directorial debut of producer Alex Scharfman (ResurrectionBlow the Man Down) and stars Paul Rudd, Jenna Ortega, Will Poulter, Sunita Mani, Anthony Carrigan, Jessica Hynes, Téa Leoni and Richard E. Grant. The movie follows a father and daughter who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his boss seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties. Scharfman also wrote the screenplay and is producing the project with Drew Houpt (Beach RatsSelah and the Spades), Lucas Joaquin (Little Men, Love Is Strange),  Lars Knudsen (HereditaryMidsommar), Tyler Campellone (Dream Scenario), Tim Headington (Edge of Darkness, Hugo) and Theresa Steele (The Green KnightMiss Juneteenth) for Page of Ley Line Entertainment. Ari Aster serves as an executive producer. John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter & Daniel Davies were originally attached to score the movie. Death of a Unicorn will be released in theaters nationwide on March 28 by A24.

As previously reported, Romer also has Disney’s live action Lilo & Stitch movie (to open in theaters on May 23) coming up. His other recent projects include Kyle Hausmann-Stokes’ feature My Dead Friend Zoe, which will be released in theaters next Friday, February 28 by Briarcliff Entertainment and NBC’s The Hunting Party, which currently airs every Monday night.
