Jed Kurzel (Alien: Covenant,The Babadook, Overlord, Monkey ManThe MustangThe Pope’s Exorcist) is the composer of the upcoming Australian limited series The Narrow Road to the Deep North. The show is written by Shaun Grant based on the novel of the same name by Richard Flanagan (Australia) and stars Jacob Elordi, Ciarán Hinds, Odessa Young, Olivia DeJonge and Simon Baker. The 5-part drama directed by Justin Kurzel tells the story of a celebrated World War II hero who is haunted by his experiences in a Japanese prisoner of war camp and memories of an affair that took place just before the war . Justin Kurzel, Grant & Flanagan are also executive producing the Curio Pictures production with Jo Porter (Picnic at Hanging Rock, The Artful Dodger), Rachel Gardner (The Stranger, Slow West) and Richard Flanagan. Jed Kurzel has previously scored all of his brother Justin’s features, including The Snowtown Murders, Assassin’s Creed, Macbeth and last year’s The Order. The first two episodes of The Narrow Road to the Deep North will premiere this weekend at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival and the series will debut in Australia on April 18 on Prime Video.
