Composers Erick Alexander and Jared Bulmer are reuniting with director Andrew Patterson on the upcoming crime thriller The Rivals of Amziah King. The film is written and directed by Patterson and stars Matthew McConaughey, Angelina LookingGlass, Kurt Russell, Jake Horowitz, Rob Morgan, Scott Shepherd, Tony Revolori, Owen Teague, Bruce Davis and Cole Sprouse. The movie follows a charismatic local beekeeper who oversees a beloved honey operation in the American southwest and sets out to bring his estranged foster daughter into the family business despite facing ruthless competitors with other plans. Patterson is also producing the project with David Heyman (Barbie, Gravity), Black Bear Pictures’ Teddy Schwarzman (The Imitation Game, All Is Lost), Jeffrey Clifford (Up in the Air, The Light Between Oceans), Michael Heimler (Immaculate, I Care a Lot) and Will Greenfield (Euphoria). Alexander & Bulmer have previously scored Patterson’s first feature, The Vast of Night. The Rivals of Amziah King will premiere this March at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival.
